| Biographies |
| Daniel Netz - Principal, Engineering Director |
With a strong creative passion
and over 20 years of engineering experience, Daniel brings a unique
symmetry and awareness to water design. Since 1999, he has been designing
and engineering water display systems for a national and international
Clientele. Prior to 1999, he worked in the engineering, mining, petrochemical
processing and petroleum refining industries, and in doing so held
positions as Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Maintenance Engineer,
Project Manager, Marketing Coordinator and Business Development Director.
As a byproduct of this broad exposure, Daniel’s experiences
have evolved a concise engineering methodology that allows for efficient
and practical design execution. |
Mr. Netz’s education
includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and
Technology from Northern Arizona University and a post graduate course
in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. In
addition to designing and engineering water display systems, Mr. Netz regularly
teaches courses and speaks on hydrodynamic design and is a consultant to
the architecture, pool and interior design industries. |
| Carlos Mendez - Principal, Technical Coordination Director |
His intuitive nature and
broad interests has allowed Mr. Mendez to work with such interesting
and compelling people as Paul McCready and Maya Lin and to gain experience
in areas such as infrastructure development, electro-mechanical systems
design and composite materials development for airborne vehicles.
Mr. Mendez’s experience specific
to water design came from his 6 years with WET Design. |
| Mr. Mendez’s education includes pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Production Technology from California State University Los Angeles while on a full scholarship from the Northrop Grumman Company; he also holds a degree in Mechanical Design and has undertaken special study from the Rip Weaver course on Process Piping Design. |
Jorge Enrique Mutis - Senior Project Designer |
| Compelled by finished architecture as seen from a distance, Jorge brings a macro perspective to fountain design by providing a necessary counter-balance to the micro perspective typically exuded by a technically trained mind. |
Mr. Mutis' educational experience and accomplishments include under
graduate study at the Southern California Institute
of Architecture, as well as Florida Atlantic
University. Mr. Mutis was honored to participate in The Fallingwater
Residency Program from The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Mr. Mutis
last served as project manger with Florida based Singer Architects
before relocating to the west coast.
